Intensive German Plus (with voucher BS)
Have you been living in Basel-Stadt or Baselland for less than two years? Then Intensive German Plus is just the right course for you. In this course you will start learning or continue improving your German and you will practice using your language skills in everyday situations. At the same time, you will learn everything necessary to find your way around the area and use the infrastructure where you live.
Course: Intensive German Plus
Course length: 7 weeks, 80 lessons
Course times: Mond. to Thursday, 9.00–11.30 a.m.
Level: A1–B1 based on the CEFR
Registration deadline: 1 week before the course begins (later registration possible depending on availability)
Fees (depending on income):
With Basel-Stadt voucher: CHF 0.–
For Basel-Stadt residents: CHF 120.– to 1,080.–
For Baselland residents: CHF 240.– (from course level B2 onwards CHF 1,200.–)
For residents of other cantons and referring agencies: CHF 1,200.–
Per child: CHF 100.– to 1,160.– (children under 18 months: +CHF 6.–/h)

K5 helps you successfully learn German–customized to your needs.
A written confirmation of participation will be issued at the end of a course if a participant has finished the course. This confirmation includes course content, course dates, course level(s) and number of lessons.
The possibility of a course and childcare fee reduction for private payers from Basel-Stadt and Baselland will be reviewed at the time of registration. A fee reduction is based on a family’s income, which must be shown in writing when registering for a course. Verification of a health insurance premium fee reduction (BS) or a payment slip (BL) must be provided when registering for a course.
Residents of Basel-Stadt with a valid Basel-Stadt voucher can attend courses free of charge. If course registration is cancelled within one week after the course begins, the voucher can be recalled for a fee of CHF 75.–. As of the second course week, the voucher loses validity.
Course fees may be paid in instalments. The first instalment is due when the course begins. Course fees must be paid in full before the end of the course.
Course registration may be cancelled at no cost up until one week before the course begins. If course registration is cancelled within one week after the course begins, a fee of CHF 75.– will be charged. As of the third course week, the full course fees will be billed.
Due to the current corona pandemic, the K5 Basler Kurszentrum may be obliged to implement protective measures (e.g. keeping your distance). By registering for the course, the course participant confirms that the K5 Basler Kurszentrum is authorized to undertake/ adapt appropriate measures in the course structure if necessary, for example the rearrangement of face-to-face lessons to distance learning.
In order for the participants to be able to participate in distance learning, they must have appropriate digital devices (computer, tablet) and an Internet connection and be able to use them (including downloading, for example Video conference apps etc.). Responsibility in this regard rests with the participant. Loan devices are available in limited numbers from the K5.
The course costs remain owed in full in the aforementioned measures. Lessons in "distance learning" are rated as class attendance.
In addition, K5 Basler Kurszentrum is authorized to exclude participants from the course if thereby official instructions are implemented. Examples include:
- Participants who show signs of illness and /or who dod not or only insufficiently implement the official hygiene measures
- Participants who belong to a risk group according to the Federal Office of Public Health
- Participants who have to isolate themselves according to the Federal Office of Public Health or a medical prescription
The course costs remain owed in full in the aforementioned measures.
Furthermore, the K5 Basler Kurszentrum is entitled to pass on contact details of participants to cantonal authorities in connection with the corona pandemic (e.g. for contact tracing).
The possibility of a childcare fee reduction will be reviewed at the time of registration. A fee reduction is based on a family’s income, which must be shown in writing when registering for a course. Residents of Basel-Stadt must provide verification that they receive a health insurance premium fee reduction; residents of Baselland must provide a salary statement.
The fees can be paid in instalments and must be paid in full by the end of the day care period booked.
Childcare registration may be cancelled at no cost up until two weeks before the course begins. As of the third course week, the full course fees will be billed.

In this context, K5 Basler Kurszentrum, is entitled to exclude children, un whole or in part, from the after-school care center if official instructions are thereby implemented.
